Ammon – The total value of certificates of origin issued by the Irbid Chamber of Industry for the month of July amounted to 124 million dollars, compared to exports amounting to 120 million dollars for the same month of last year, with an increase of 3 percent.
The exports of Al-Hassan Industrial City accounted for $118 million of the total volume of Irbid governorate exports, while the Cyber City exported $5.5 million, while the rest of the exports were distributed to different areas in the governorate.
The head of the Chamber, Hani Abu Hassan, said in a statement today, Wednesday, that the knitting and leather sector maintained its leadership position in the industrial export sectors, with an export volume of $116 million last month, followed by the medical and medical supplies sector, with an export volume of $2.3 million, then the catering sector with exports amounting to $1.8 million. Abu Hassan indicated that the rest of the exports were distributed to the sectors of plastic, rubber, packaging, cardboard, mining and construction industries.
Abu Hassan indicated that the American market absorbed 71 percent of the governorate’s exports, Arab countries 8 percent, European Union countries 12 million dollars, Canada 2.5 million dollars, Southeast Asian countries 1.3 million dollars, and the rest of the exports were distributed to different countries around the world.
He explained that the recovery of the textile and leather sector exports contributed to raising the total volume of exports to the province, expressing his hope that the province’s exports would witness a remarkable improvement in the coming months.
