A Syrian parliamentarian told Al-Dustour: The Cairo Peace Summit announced the Arab alignment in support of the Palestinian cause.
Syrian parliamentarian Hussein Ragheb stressed the importance of holding the Cairo Peace Summit, especially in light of the critical time that the Arab nation is experiencing amid attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause through genocide and displacement.
Ragheb added, in exclusive statements to Al-Dustour, that the Cairo Peace Summit seeks to restore balance in the international position towards the Palestinian people.
He stressed that the summit sent an Arab message to the world that emphasized the unity of the Arab ranks in support of the Palestinian cause.
The Syrian parliamentarian pointed out that the Egyptian proposal to hold the Cairo Peace Summit came in light of the inability of the international community to intervene and stop the Zionist aggression against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
5 UN organizations demand a ceasefire in Gaza
The World Health Organization, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Population Fund, UNICEF and the World Food Program issued a joint statement regarding the entry of humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
The statement confirmed that today, Saturday, 20 trucks carrying a limited first shipment, from the United Nations and the Egyptian Red Crescent, of humanitarian supplies necessary to save lives entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
He added that this shipment will represent a critical lifeline for hundreds of thousands of civilians, most of them women and children, who have been cut off from supplies of water, food, medicine, and other necessities.
The statement indicated that these supplies are just a small beginning and are far from sufficient for the needs of the population there, as there are more than 1.6 million people in Gaza in dire need of humanitarian aid, and among these, children, pregnant women, and the elderly are the most vulnerable, noting that approximately Nearly half of Gaza’s population are children.
