Al Madinah Dates sales exceed 6 million kg

Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region continues to harvest dates in conjunction with its season, which began early in the villages of the region since the end of Dhul-Qi’dah due to climatic factors, and is currently witnessing an abundance of supply after the production of the city’s farms has matured, as the sales of the central market for dates until yesterday amounted to 6,207,843 kilograms.

This came from the report issued by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the region, and is concerned with following up the statistical indicators of the market, and monitoring the quantities received, as it is witnessing an increasing demand from the people and visitors, as well as the guests of Rahman who intended to visit Medina after performing the rituals of Hajj.

The report indicated that the total dates of date sales in the last ten days amounted to 3,453,362 kilograms, and the most prominent types are: Al-Rutana dates, whose sales exceeded 3,047,107 kilograms, and Al-Rabiah dates with 156,020 kilograms.

The Ministry branch worked to create sites for farmers inside the central market. For self-sale, and exporters internally and externally, in addition to the presence of control teams in the field, facilitating the movement of entry and exit, and organizing the entry of suppliers’ vehicles, which amounted to 19,061 vehicles.

In addition, farmers continue to harvest dates for two months through 26,000 farms and nearly 5 million palm trees in the region, as it constitutes a high economic and nutritional value, contributes to achieving food security, and enhancing and developing the local product.
