Pro-Palestinian demonstrators against the Israeli occupation tried to break the police line on the ramp leading to the Gardiner Expressway in an enthusiastic march that attracted thousands to downtown Toronto, Canada, on Saturday.

According to what was reported by the Toronto Star newspaper, the police carried riot control weapons; The protesters were prevented from getting onto the ramp and headed east, before gathering at Lower Simcoe Road and Lake Shore Boulevard.

The newspaper explained that the demonstrators chanted “Free Palestine” and “The occupation must go.”
