In addition to the regulatory instructions previously issued on 10/17/2023 regarding the misuse of credit cards by some speculators by making cash withdrawals from abroad without actually traveling, which included some measures to facilitate the use of credit cards abroad for citizens who have actual needs for this.

In this regard, you may notice complaints from some bank customers regarding some obstacles in communicating with banks before traveling to open their credit card limits for use abroad, and the most important of these obstacles is the lack of time available before travel.

In order for the Central Bank of Egypt to overcome any difficulties facing citizens and facilitate the use of their credit cards to cover their expenses while traveling abroad, it was decided to open the entire limits of use for the credit card to any customer without the need to submit any documents as soon as he contacts the customer service of the card-issuing bank or visits a branch. For this purpose, the customer must commit, within a period of 90 days from the opening of those borders, to submit to the card-issuing bank proof that his use of the card was during his travel abroad through departure and arrival stamps on his passport, or by sending proof of his continued presence abroad if he exceeds a period of time. 90 days.

In the event that the customer does not comply with the above, the card issuing bank will inform the Egyptian Credit Inquiry Company (I-Score) to place him on the negative list. He will also be included in the list of customers to whom it is prohibited to issue credit cards or benefit from banking services in the future, in addition to informing the relevant authorities. Necessary to take.
