The Moroccan national team qualified, in a resounding surprise, for the 2023 Women’s World Cup final, after a historic 1-0 victory over Colombia.

Germany tied 1-1 against South Korea, today, Thursday, August 3, in the Group H competitions of the tournament currently being held on Australian and New Zealand soil, to bid farewell to the German women from the first round, despite their broad victory in the opening match of the group over Morocco, 6-0.

The Moroccan national team raised its score to 6 points with two consecutive victories with the same score (1-0) against South Korea and Colombia, so that the team ran as the second in Group H, while the Colombia national team nominated as the first in the group by goal difference.

Germany finished third with 4 points, as it suffered a surprising loss against Colombia during the second round, 2-1.

This is the first time that an Arab team has qualified for the elimination stages of the Women’s World Cup since the tournament was established in the early 1990s, noting that the Moroccan team is the first Arab team to qualify for the tournament as a whole.
