Opening of the second edition of the Egyptian Products Exhibition in South Sudan
Minister Plenipotentiary Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of the Commercial Representation Authority, opened on behalf of Mr. Engineer, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Mr. Moataz Abdel Qader, Egyptian Ambassador to Juba, with the participation of the Advisor to the President of South Sudan for Security Affairs and the Southern Minister of Investment, the second edition of the Egyptian Products Exhibition in South Sudan, which was held during the period from 26 to October 30, in cooperation between the Southern Ministry of Investment, the Egyptian African Company for Development Projects, and the General Authority for International Exhibitions and Markets.
The head of the commercial representation also gave a speech in which he pointed out the importance of increasing economic cooperation and the volume of trade exchange between the two sides, especially in light of the distinguished relations between the political leadership in both countries and the existence of great opportunities for Egyptian companies in the South Sudan market in multiple fields, most notably infrastructure, health and industry projects. In various sectors such as food, beverages, medicines, pharmaceuticals, building materials, etc., in addition to the field of education, services, communications, etc.
The participants toured the exhibition, in which 35 Egyptian companies participated, and met with the exhibitors, where the Egyptian products were admired by southern officials, especially in light of their competitive prices, quality, and diversity among food products, handicrafts, textiles, clothing, oils, and natural products.
The interventions of the participants in the opening ceremony focused on the necessity of localizing Egyptian industries and opening branches and distribution centers for Egyptian companies and factories in South Sudan, especially in light of the popularity of Egyptian products among South Sudanese citizens.
