The Deputy Minister of Housing chairs a meeting to follow up on the drinking water system in New Cairo and the status of ongoing projects

Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, chaired an expanded meeting for the purpose of following up on the position of drinking water facilities and project implementation in New Cairo, in the presence of the Ministry’s Advisor for Follow-up and Projects, the Head of the Regulatory Agency for Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Consumer Protection, and the Head of the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater, Assistant Vice President of the Urban Communities Authority for the Development and City Development Sector for Crises and Disasters – Supervisor of the Authority’s facilities work, representatives of the city authority, and project contractors, within the framework of the directives of Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, to follow up and evaluate the drinking water and sanitation system in new cities and follow up on the implementation Projects in it.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation reviewed the implementation position of the turbid water lines project, the obstacles facing the implementation work and the measures that have been taken in this regard, where Dr. Sayed Ismail stressed the need for coordination between all concerned parties and a commitment to completing the work according to the timetable. Planned to benefit from project implementation.

Dr. Sayed Ismail also discussed with the audience the proposed technical and operational solutions to overcome torrents, rain, and sudden conditions, stressing the need to prepare well for rapid intervention plans to resolve crises.

In the same context, the head of the regulatory agency for drinking water, sanitation, and consumer protection reviewed the position of the drinking water system in New Cairo and the procedures and observations required to be implemented to improve the level of services provided in the city and maintain the sustainability of service provision. In this regard, Dr. Sayed Ismail directed representatives of the New Cairo City Authority It is necessary to complete the implementation of the work related to the regulatory body’s observations as soon as possible.

The Deputy Minister of Housing concluded the meeting by emphasizing the Ministry’s full support for all new city agencies to maintain investments and implement the work required to improve the level of services and overcome sudden circumstances.
