Victim in Israeli shooting on the Lebanese border
The National News Agency in Lebanon said that the army, in cooperation with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), was able to withdraw 9 civilians, including 6 journalists. The agency reported that the accident resulted in one victim and one injured person being taken to hospital.
For its part, UNIFIL announced that the Lebanese Armed Forces asked it yesterday evening, Thursday, to assist 7 individuals who were stuck near the Blue Line border with Israel, close to the grave of Sheikh Abbad, “during an intense exchange of fire across the Blue Line.”
She stated on the “X” platform that she had contacted the Israeli army and urged it to cease fire to facilitate the rescue operation.
She added, “The Israeli army stopped firing, which allowed the Lebanese army to successfully remove the individuals from the area, but one person lost his life in the incident, and the others were rescued.”
